The surveyor's path
Fill the living book as part of the survey. The deliverable travels with the hull. We are looking for surveyor partners.
Closed alpha The door, the two starts, the Finding, the signing and the file below exist. Identity in the alpha is a labelled stand-in; see Identity in the alpha.
A separate door
Your pages have their own addresses. The owner's home does not link to them. Open a hull already in the book. See your windows. Start as found when there is no book yet.
You write on a hull only through an invite on it. Fjordlys refuses invite. Record and Sign (demo) stay.
As found
Name the boat. Optional Kind, Year, class and Home. Year sits next to Kind. Open the record. Parts start blank. No owner is written until an owner takes the hull over. No can wait line. Home placeholder is Oslofjord. No geography line.
An invite
The owner opens a dated window. Accept. When the window closes you can still see what you signed. You cannot add a Finding.
An existing hull inspected
Walk the Parts. Photo first. Write what you found. Continue to signing.
When the window is closed the page says Window closed. You can see what you signed.
Screenshot to follow.
What a Finding is, and is not
- A Finding says what was found on one named item, not what is fitted.
- A Finding is not a receipt.
- A signed Finding can open a job on the owner's Due list. Your recommendation is your sentence, never a shop.
The ceremony
One Finding. You sign with your phone. No phone sign, nothing signs. The product checks. It never signs for you. Wide Sign is Drafts and the Finding. Condition, Severity, Photo, Location and Found sit once. No Sign finding line.
The labelled demo still signs with a demo key. The page says Demo. Only the author signs. A signed Finding is never edited; a correction is a new Finding that says so.
A short clip will sit here when we record one.
A file you can send back
You name the owner or the buyer and set the days. They open a link with no account: your signed Findings and their photos. Owner notes stay out. They can take a file that still checks without us.
Identity in the alpha
Closed alpha Identity is a labelled stand-in and every page says so. The signing key is made on your phone and stands in for a later sign with your own phone. This proves the shape. It is not yet a signature a court would weigh.
- Planned Sign with your own phone in place of the demo key, with the level shown on every statement.
- Concept Stronger identity later, only if a party requires it.
- Planned Work in a yard with no signal: findings and photos held on the phone and synced without loss. In the alpha the phone needs a connection.
- Planned A report in your own layout with a check link, showing whether the signature is valid, who signed and when, and nothing else about the hull.
- Planned What you physically checked and what differed from the book, signed.
- Concept Drafting help from your notes, each suggestion pointing to what it used, unsigned until you sign.
What stays yours
Your report format, your judgement and your credentials stay yours. Credentials are self-declared and shown as such. Nothing in SailOS signs for you, and nothing in SailOS can.
