Concepts

The book is the signed record of one hull. Parts are the named items on it. A Finding is what a surveyor saw and signed.

Systems on the hull

Kit sits under systems a skipper already knows: Hull, Deck, Rig, Machinery, Electrical, Safety. Your book is one hull. You name what is actually there. Make and serial stay unknown until someone knows them.

Optional kit — a watermaker, a liferaft — stays off until you add it. Planned Add kit after you open the book.

Glossary

Book
The signed record of one boat across its life. When the boat is sold, the book goes with the hull.
Parts
Named items on this hull — installed, stowed or on hand — under the systems above. A spare impeller is its own item, not a second state of the fitted one.
Finding
What a surveyor saw, with a photo first and a recommendation if there is one. A Finding says what was found, not what is fitted. Only a surveyor signs one. Owner ticks are not Findings.
Due
What needs doing next, why, and last done (or never). Empty reads No job.
Share
A time-limited read of the book — sign in, or a signed-only file with no account. Not a copy. You can close either.
Home
Next due, Continue, and Parts. Settings stay folded.

Words we do not use

Not "verified" with a tick (say who signed). Not "tamper-proof" (tamper-evident). Not "twin" or "passport" (your boat's record). Not a headline where software is the subject: people sign; nothing automated does.
