When you sell the boat

The buyer should inherit the history, not a cardboard box. The book stays with the hull.

A sale usually wipes the record. The new skipper cannot see last year's work. The insurer sees a gap. You keep a zip of photos that nobody will open.

SailOS moves the book, not a copy. The buyer writes. You stop writing. Risk drops because the trail did not break at the handshake. A file you send before the sale is a backup for a broker or a looker. It is not the sale.

1. Keep the book while you own it

Due, Parts and winter jobs stay yours. A file you mint for someone else to read does not move the book.

2. Transfer in Settings

Transfer empty is Hull, From, To and Status None. Live offer is To and Status Open. You name the buyer. They get a link. Close a surveyor window first if one is open. Transfer waits while a surveyor can still write.

3. The buyer accepts

They sign in and accept. Same hull. Same findings. They write. They do not get a second copy. They get this book.

4. The seller door loses write

The boat leaves your list. You cannot write. They hold the book.

A file you send is a backup

Use it if a broker or a buyer wants a snapshot before the sale. It does not move write. A pack is a backup, not the handoff.

Planned A sale both sides sign on the same page, and a layout of the buyer's own, are not built. Today's Transfer is the invite and the accept.
